What is Perth and Kinross Quality of Life Trust?

Perth and Kinross Quality of Life Trust was created on 2 December 1999 and launched on 24 January 2000. It is an independent non-profit trust promoting and supporting local community activity through a programme of constructive and innovative grant-making and creative partnerships. Perthshire is well known for the exceptional quality of life people could enjoy and the Trust aims to improve this quality of life of the inhabitants of Perth and Kinross area using sustainable development as a core value.

Perth and Kinross Quality of Life Trust is committed to be open, participatory and user-friendly.

The Trust is enrolled by Entrust as an Environmental Body (811047) and is distributing Landfill Communities Fund and other funding. The Trust is recognised as a Charity (SCO31297) and regulated by OSCR.

What strategic outcomes the Trust aims to achieve?

 Perth and Kinross Quality of Life Trust business plan (2010-2012) focuses on three strategic outcomes:

BETTER SUPPORT: Communities and local initiatives improving quality of life are better supported

BETTER GRANTMAKING: Grantmaking is easier and more effective for local and external funders.

BETTER RECOGNITION:  Local achievements are better recognised

Who are the Trustees?

The Trust is governed by 13 Trustees drawn from a wide spectrum of Perth and Kinross interests: community organisations (2), businesses (2), Perth and Kinross Council (3), Major Trust/Organisations (4), Young People (2)

Tina Lindsay (Ardoch Development Trust) and Isobel Ives (Take a Pride in Perthshire Association) for community organisations,

David Wilkie (Scottish Business in the Community) and Karen Jackman (Aviva) for businesses,

Councillors Dave Scott, Callum Gillies, Bob Ellis for Perth and Kinross Council,

Andrew Saunders or Marek Gordon for SITA Trust,

James Adam for Alyth 50+ Forum,

Nornam Little for Royal Army Services Corps Memorial Trust,

Professor Martin Price or Catherine Lloyd for Tayside Biodiversity Partnership,

Nathan Shields (Perth College Students UHI Association) and one additional trustee (vacant).

Councillor Callum Gillies is the Chairman of Perth and Kinross Quality of Life Trust.
