Drumderg Fund Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund

 

The Fund aims to promote community spirit and bring people together; enhance quality of life and promote people’s well-being; and foster vibrant, sustainable communities. Groups and organisations matching these purposes and providing public benefit to people living in the area may apply for a grant award. Your group must have a constitution and be set up on a not-for-profit basis; however you need not be a registered charity.  (more)

 

Alyth Common Good Fund

 

WHO CAN APPLY?

Within the boundary of the relevant common good area and if funding is available, applications will be considered from individuals either in full time education or of senior citizen status and from groups whose members qualify on the same basis or which are operating within the same boundary.

WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE ELIGIBLE

Under this category, the following activities may be considered:

- School/youth exchanges
- School prizes
- Voluntary work overseas
- Attendance at summer schools/events
- Excursions/Parties (up to 2 per year per group)
- Visits by and from School/Youth/Sport/Music groups

Applications will also be considered, if funding is available, covering the following broader activities:

- Christmas lighting - Firework displays up to a maximum of 50% of the total costs
- Organisation of events/games/festivals up to a maximum of 50% of the total costs
- Prizes at events/games/festivals
- Acquisition of equipment - consideration on merits up to a maximum of 50%
- Capital grants for provision/improvement of facilities - consideration on merits up to a maximum of 50% (the facilities must be available to the general public)
- Any purpose where it can be demonstrated that there is a benefit to the community of the common good area

WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE

The following activities will not normally be considered:

- Assistance with College fees
- Charity based sponsored walk/cycle/canoe etc.
- Town twinning activities other than those qualifying through the age/occupation criteria
- Organisations with religious/political associations where there are restrictions on usage or availability
- Core funding of the Voluntary sector
- Assistance with rental of premises

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The following additional general recommendations are also applicable:

- Common Good Funds normally limit expenditure to their available income in any one year. Some Common Good Funds have no funding available
- Level of award for excursions/parties always subject to available funds are:
£100 for individuals
Up to £600 for groups numbering up to 19
Up to £1,000 for groups of 20 and over
- Applications covering more than one area will be considered jointly by the respective Conveners
- Group applicants will be required if necessary to submit financial information
- Successful applicants will be requested to provide reasonable feedback on the outcome of the award
