NEWSROOM e-funding news Launched Councillor Eleanor Howie (Chair of Council Financial Assistance Panel) and Penny Brodie (Perth and Kinross CVS Manager) launched Perth and Kinross Grants Direct new monthly e-funding newsletter on Friday 12th October. The e-newsletter will provide up to date news from local and national funders, highlight potential funding opportunities, provide details of funding surgeries and highlight links to useful funding websites and databases. Perth and Kinross Grants Direct distributes over £1 million Grants In 2006/07 Perth and Kinross Grants Direct, the one stop shop for funding in Perth and Kinross, has helped local funders to process 423 applications, distribute 314 grants totalling £1,081.088, and for a total project value of £5,368,363. (more) Launch of the 2008/09 Rolls-Royce Science Prize Schools and Colleges within the UK that teach pupils between the ages of 3 and 19 are invited to apply for this years Rolls-Royce Science Prize which aims to bring teaching staff together to enthuse young people about science. Awards range between £1,000 and £15,000 and the deadline for submission is 29th February 2008. (more) Community Voices Funding is available through the BIG Lottery’s Dynamic, Inclusive Communities Fund to assist community groups in becoming more active in their areas and give people an opportunity to take part in decision making. The fund aims to enable and encourage these communities to acquire the skills and capacity that will allow them to address the issues that concern them without relying on outside support. (more) Funding to Support Community Based Heritage Projects (UK) Your Heritage provides grants of between £5,000 and £50,000 to support community-focused heritage projects. To qualify for a grant, projects should conserve and enhance the UK’s diverse heritage or encourage communities to identify, look after and celebrate their heritage or both. (more) Funding for Individuals and Small Groups to Improve their Local Communities Groups of individuals as well as small community and voluntary groups within the UK that want to improve their communities can apply for funding through the Wakeham Trust. The Trust are interested in supporting neighbourhood projects, community arts projects, projects involving community service by young people, or projects set up by those who are socially excluded.
