FUNDING SUCCESS IN PERTH & KINROSS

 

Organisations in Perth & Kinross have secured over £180,000 funding through the Rural Tayside Leader programme.  Awards include Blairgowrie and Rattray Regeneration Company (£4,500), Pitlochry Partnership (£21,250), Perthshire Visual Arts Forum (£2,460), Pitlochry in Bloom (£2,780), Tayside Biodiversity Partnership (£4,345), Scottish Crannog Centre (£38,950), Heartland FM (£17,750), Highland Perthshire Communities Partnership (£13,000), Perth and Kinross Council (£35,000), Enterprising Eastern Perthshire (£36,622), Comrie in Colour (£3,664).

 

PUSH (Perth & Kinross) Ltd were awarded £10,525 from Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland to fund the salary of a project sessional worker.

 

Glenfarg & Duncrieve in Bloom secured £900 from the Its Your Community      Initiative for a food garden open to members of the community.

 

CVS VOLUNTARY AND COMMUNITY SECTOR CONFERENCE 2009

 

The Perth & Kinross CVS Voluntary Sector Conference will take place on Friday 6th March 2009 in the Salutation Hotel, Perth.  The theme of this years conference is “March Forward”.

CHANGES TO SCOTTISH COMMUNITY FOUNDATION PROGRAMMES

 

The Scottish Community Foundation provides funding to community groups and charities, particularly those which help to build and sustain communities, often at a very local level through a variety of grants programmes.

 

The Foundation have announced changes applicable from January 2009:

 

· The maximum size of an Express Grant has been increased to £2,000

· All applicants must send copies of their constitution and annual accounts with their application form

· All applicants are required to have their annual accounts inspected and signed by someone independent of the group  (more)

 

FUNDING FOR GROUPS TO IMPROVE THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITIES

 

Groups of individuals as well as small community and voluntary groups within the UK that want to improve their communities can apply for funding through the Wakeham Trust. The Trust are particularly interested in supporting neighbourhood projects, community arts projects, projects involving community service by young people, or projects set up by those who are socially excluded. The Trust also support innovative projects to promote excellence in teaching (at any level, from primary schools to universities), though we never support individuals. The Trust normally gives grants to projects where an initial £75 to £750 can make a real difference to getting the project up and running. To be eligible, applicants need to be registered charities or have access to a registered charity that will be willing to accept funds on their behalf.  (more)

 

TESCO CHARITY TRUST COMMUNITY AWARDS SCHEME

 

The Tesco Charity Trust has announced that its Community Awards scheme to support children’s welfare and children’s education is now open for applications.  The scheme provides one-off donations of between £1,000 and £4,000 towards projects that directly benefit children living in local communities.  Projects that the trust have previously supported include playground equipment, outdoor classrooms, breakfast and after school clubs and holiday play schemes.  The scheme is due to open for applications on 1st February 2009.  (more)

 

THE PETER DE HAAN CHARITABLE TRUST

 

The Peter De Haan Charitable Trust supports charitable organisations which aim to improve the quality of life for people and communities in the UK.  This year the charity expects to make grants of between £2 million and £3 million.  The funding available is delivered through three programme areas; Social Welfare, The Environment, The Arts.

 

Grants can be for project-based applications or to subsidise core costs and can be available for up to three years.  Applications are considered on a continuing basis throughout the year.  (more)

 

CRISIS—CHANGING LIVES PROGRAMME

 

Crisis, the national Homeless Charity has announced that the Changing Lives Programme will re-open for applications from the 26 January 2009 until 13 March 2009.  The Crisis Changing Lives programme provides financial rewards of up to £2,500 to solitary people who are homeless or settling into a home and looking for support so that they may achieve their vocational goals.  (more)

 

THE LINKS FOUNDATION

 

The Links Foundation, an organisation that delivers services to tackle social exclusion and poverty by helping disadvantaged individuals and communities, provides grants to disadvantaged communities.  The type of activities that the Foundation seeks to support include projects that advance peoples education; reduce significant disadvantage; assist those in conditions of poverty, need or distress; and provide for recreational or other leisure time occupation.  The Foundation can fund new or existing projects and can help meet costs such as salary, rent and stationary as well as capital costs.  (more)

 

EUROPEAN YOUTH FOUNDATION GRANTS

 

The European Youth Foundation is an independent, international, non-governmental organisation dedicated to the positive development of children and young people throughout the world.  To support its objectives the foundation makes grants to international not for profit youth organisations and networks.  The types of activities supported include international youth meeting, the development of projects that benefit young people and help towards administrative costs of eligible organisations.  The next application deadline is 1st April 2009.  (more)
