Corporate Financial Assistance to the Voluntary/Community Sector

 

The Council awards grants from its Corporate Financial Assistance Budget to voluntary/community organisations to invest in growth and development and grass-roots activities.  This includes support for adult education associations, capital grants, interest groups, village halls, bloom committees and small events/competition/festivals.  (more)

Perth and Kinross Quality of Life Trust

 

Perth and Kinross Quality of Life Trust will support projects which improve the Quality of Life within Perth and Kinross and develop sustainable communities.  Support is given to encouraging community participation by under represented groups, initiatives targeted at reducing the fear of crime, maximising energy efficiency and improving local facilities for older people and vulnerable adults.

Common Good Fund

 

The Common Good Funds are in place to support local residents and organisations by distributing grants.  These grant awards allow individuals and local organisations to carry out a wide range of community based activities.  (more)

The Perthshire Royal Army Service Corps Memorial Charitable Trust

 

The purpose of the fund is to address the needs of inhabitants of Perth and Kinross disadvantaged by economic circumstances and advance educational attainment.  (more)

Awards for All

Awards for All Scotland awards grants of between £500 and £10,000 for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community.  Projects supported include those which help older people and vulnerable adults play a fuller role in the community, help in setting up community groups and removing barriers for participation in arts and sports clubs.  (more)

 

Grants from Age Concern Scotland

 

Voluntary organizations working for the benefit of older people in Scotland may be eligible to apply for funding through the Age Concern Scotland Grants scheme.  Grants of between £500 and £5,000 are available to develop new projects that will benefit older people.  This includes purchase of equipment and organisation of conferences and training.  (more)

 

HBOS Foundation – Community Action Programme

 

Through its Community Action Programme, the HBOS Foundation makes grants of up to £10,000 to support a diverse range of local activities.  The programme is open to registered charities and has two key themes: money advice and financial literacy and developing and improving local communities.  (more)

 

Links Foundation

 

The Links Foundation fund a wide range of community-based projects in the UK.  All applications must show the positive impact a project could have on a community.  There is no set amount, but average awards are around £20,000.  Funding can be for new or existing projects and can help meet capital and revenue costs.  Applications are considered 3 times per year.  (more)

 

Nationwide Foundation Small Grants Programme

 

The Nationwide Foundation are offering grants of up to £5,000 for charities that help people to take part in building better futures for their community.  The grants programmes are designed to help people in need and importantly, to help break the drivers of social exclusion by offering support to those who are on its margins.  (more)

 

Ibrahim Foundation

 

Grants of between £500 and £10,000 are available to organisations which aim to improve the quality of life for people and communities in the UK.  The fund likes to consider work which others may find hard to fund, perhaps because it is too risky, requires core funding or needs a more unusual form of financial help such as a loan.  (more)

 

Scottish Community Projects Fund

 

The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland, in association with The Robertson Trust, is seeking to promote the involvement of local people in the design, use and management of buildings and spaces as well as in the decision making process which affects their local environment.  The Scottish Community Projects Fund can award grants up to a maximum of £2,000 of half the cost for a local community group to employ an architect or any other initiatives which have social benefit.  For further information please email.

 

Abbey Charitable Trust

 

Abbey Charitable Trust is committed to supporting local communities and disadvantaged people, particularly in those areas where Abbey has a significant presence.  The Trust funds projects that meet one or more of the following priorities:

· Education and training for disadvantaged people

· Financial advice to help people manager their money

· Projects where different part of the community work together to help improve the local area

 

The funding is available to registered charities.  Most donations will be between £500 and £4,000.  Applications can be submitted at any time.  (more)

 

The Women’s Fund for Scotland

 

The Woman’s Fund in Scotland has been given £110,000 by the Scottish Government to distribute awards of up to £5,000 to women’s groups in 2008/09.

 

To be eligible to apply, groups must be constituted and have an annual income of less than £250,000.  Grants are available for projects which support and empower women, and to fund organisations which are run predominantly by and for women.  There is also funding available for events to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8th March 2009.  The deadline for all applications is 12 December 2008.  (more)

 

The Peter De Haan Charitable Trust

 

The Peter De Haan Charitable Trust supports charitable organisations which aim to improve the quality of life for people and communities in the UK.  This year the charity expects to make grants of between £2 million and £3 million.  The funding available is delivered through three programme areas; Social Welfare, The Environment, The Arts.

 

Grants can be for project-based applications or to subsidise core costs and can be available for up to three years.  Applications are considered on a continuing basis throughout the year.  (more)

 

Crisis-Changing Lives Programme

 

Crisis, the national Homeless Charity has announced that the Changing Lives Programme will re-open for applications from the 26 January 2009 until 13 March 2009.  The Crisis Changing Lives programme provides financial rewards of up to £2,500 to solitary people who are homeless or settling into a home and looking for support so that they may achieve their vocational goals.  (more)

 

Lloyds TSB Foundation

 

Lloyds TSB Foundation distributes its funds to recognised charities in Scotland which are focused on improving the quality of life and creating equality of opportunity for people in Scotland.

 

The Foundation particularly focuses on those who are disadvantaged and marginalised, with particular emphasis on grassroots charities and organisations which help those most in need become self-sufficient or improve the quality of their lives.  (more)

 

Scottish Community Foundation Express Grants

 

Express Grants are for community groups based in Scotland looking for funding up to £2,000.  As the name suggests, Express Grants have a straightforward application process and a short turnaround time.  Within 6 weeks, applicants will know if they have been successful.  These grants are in place to support small community groups who only need small amounts of funding to make a big difference in their communities.  (more)

 

The Henry Smith Charity

 

The Henry Smith Charity makes grants totalling over £20 million per annum for a wide range of purposes across the UK.  The charity covers areas such as disability, elderly, young people, drugs and alcohol, family services, homeless and holidays for children.
