Corporate Financial Assistance to the Voluntary/Community Sector

 

The Council awards grants from its Corporate Financial Assistance Budget to voluntary/community organisations to invest in growth and development and grass-roots activities for  sport and arts clubs.  (more)

Perth and Kinross Quality of Life Trust (Better Place to Live Grants)

 

Perth and Kinross Quality of Life Trust will support projects which improve the Quality of Life within Perth and Kinross and develop sustainable communities.  Projects which encourage community participation in sport and arts, provide community leisure and recreation facilities and encourage walking, riding or cycling are supported.

Common Good Fund

 

The Common Good Funds are in place to support local residents and organisations by distributing grants.  These grant awards allow individuals and local organisations to carry out a wide range of community based activities including exchanges, attendance at events, provision/improvement of facilities and acquisition of equipment.  (more)

Sport Scotland

Sport Scotland benefits from funding from the National Lottery fund and the Scottish Executive which they invest in Scottish sport, primarily through local authorities and governing bodies.      

Funding priorities include school sport, club and community development, coaching, volunteering, player improvement, medal success, facilities and organisational development.  (more)

The Scottish Arts Council is the lead body for the funding, development and advocacy of the arts in Scotland.  (more)

The Big Lottery Fund

 

BIG is the largest distributor of lottery money.  £257 million will be invested in Scotland’s communities by 2009 to bring about social change.  A number of projects within the fund support arts, sport and active recreation.  (more)

Awards for All

Awards for All Scotland awards grants of between £500 and £10,000 for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community.  (more)

Heritage Lottery Fund

The Heritage Lottery Fund enables communities to celebrate, look after and learn more about our diverse heritage.  The fund covers the entire spread of heritage, including buildings, museums, natural heritage and the heritage of cultural heritage and traditions.  (more)

Sport Relief Funding

 

Sport Relief was established by Comic Relief and BBC Sport and aims to fund work that uses sport and exercise to strengthen communities and provide opportunities for people who are excluded or disadvantaged. This may be through low income, rural or social isolation, age, disability, race, sexuality or gender.

Sport Relief is not simply about supporting sports activities or helping clubs expand, but it's about helping organisations to use the power of sport and exercise to work with disadvantaged or excluded people to improve their quality of life.

 

Registered charities and not-for-profit groups with charitable aims and objectives can apply for up to £10,000.  Applications to Sport Relief can be made until 11 August 2008.  However organisations are advised that the majority of funding is expected to be allocated in the early stages of the programme.  (more)

 

Funding Scheme to Support Culture and Sport Amongst Young People

 

The Big Lottery Fund, the Arts Council and Department for Culture, Media and Sport and Legacy Trust UK have come together to launch a new £40 million funding scheme to use the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to promote culture and sport among young people and communities.  Under the scheme, funding will be available on a national and regional basis under three broad themes; Sport and Wellbeing, Knowledge and Learning and Arts & Culture.  The types of projects supported are likely to encompass community sport, healthy living, wellbeing, education, learning and personal development, heritage, the performing arts, creativity, community events and festivals.  (more)

 

Lottery Legacy for 2014 Commonwealth Games

 

The BIG Lottery will launch a ‘2014 Communities’ fund to create a lasting community legacy from Glasgow’s 2014 Commonwealth Games.

 

The fund will be aimed at supporting people and communities to participate in the landmark event, whether that be through taking part in sport, volunteering, learning new skills or by arranging celebratory events marking Scotland’s place in the Commonwealth.

 

The Big Lottery Fund is keen for people and communities to have their say in where Lottery money should go in support of Glasgow’s 2014 Commonwealth Games.  Log onto www.biglotteryfund.org.uk/2014 to have your say. 

 

Active Living Fund

 

Grants of up to £1,000 are available through the Kellog’s Active Living Fund for projects that remove the ‘barriers’ which stop people being active.  The fund is open to charities and other voluntary and community organisations as well as as schools for activities that directly lead to people taking part in sustained physical activity.  (more)

 

Major New Arts Participation Fund

 

Inspire is an £8 million fund that has been developed as part of the Scottish Arts Council’s commitment to increasing participation and aims to provide more, wider and better engagement with the arts.

 

Inspire is a unique opportunity for a wide range of organisations, including arts organisations, voluntary and community groups, to apply for lottery funding.

 

Priority will be given to applications which demonstrate that they extend the reach and nature of engagement with the arts, ensure quality artistic engagement and create potential for new, creative cross sectoral partnerships.  (more)

 

HBOS Foundation – Community Action Programme

 

Through its Community Action Programme, the HBOS Foundation makes grants of up to £10,000 to support a diverse range of local activities.  The programme is open to registered charities and has two key themes: money advice and financial literacy and developing and improving local communities.  (more)
